(New York, NY) Universal Republic Records’ rock band 10 Years is hitting the studio this month to record their third album entitled “Feeding The Wolves.” The highly anticipated effort will be helmed by Grammy nominated producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Flyleaf, Seether) and noted mixing specialist Chris Lord Algae will mix the singles from the album. Chris has been associated with some of the most cutting edge records in music, including songs and albums from superstars The Rolling Stones, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie and more. The new album is tentatively scheduled for a late Spring release.

Hey what's up everybody, Lewis here. Just letting you know that writing is going well and we will be heading out to L.A. to lay down some demos in early October. That means we are getting that much closer to getting in and recording this thing so we can get back on the road. We also have a little batch of shows in between Christmas and New Years. So, check the tour dates for the info and come see us! This will give us a good chance to test out some new stuff for a live audience. What is happening everybody?!?! I am taking a little break from the studio right now to give you a little update on what the hell we are doing right now. We are tracking demos all week and have bass and drums done. Everything sounds killer so far and these are just demos. We cannot wait for you guys to hear this stuff. Also have to give a huge thanks to the thousands of people that came out to support us in Syracuse, NY this past weekend. Met a shitload of you at the signing that came in from all over the place and got a ton of great feedback on the new song that we played that day for the first time. That's the ultimate test, if you know you're heading in the right direction when it comes to new songs. Judging, the response you guys gave us I think we are on the right track. Was really glad Jesse made that stage dive in one piece too! Anyways, thanks to everyone for the messages. We try to get back to all of you so just give us some time and you will hear from us. Hey everyone out there wondering what the hell we have been doing for the past month or so as we have been locked up in our secret laboratory somewhere in the Nevada desert. We have been working our asses off and creating the music that we have always wanted to create. This is the record we should of done first, and we are gelling like we did back in 99' when we didn't give a shit. This record definitely won't be called Division. I can't wait to get a sample out to you but for now it will be a minute. We plan on hitting the road in the next couple of months where you can for sure catch a couple of new tracks and we'll see all you upstaters at the K-Rockathon in August. A great friend of ours by the name of Adam Cook came to hang with us in Phoenix a while back and was kind enough to shoot some video of Jesse and myself at a radio station doing an interview and a couple of acoustic songs.

This was a pretty random song choice and we had never done this just stripped down and the 2 of us.

That's right.....we are home and enjoying every second of it!

My lazy ass has been slackin' on the blogging, so I have to apologize, but I have been in baby world with my daughter for the past week and also been in full on writing mode as well.

I have to give a huge thanks to our friends in Chevelle for taking us out on this last 2 week tour we did. We had a great time and really thought that our bands meshed well together.

Everyone in the band is doing well. Since we live on a freaking tour bus together we pretty much scatter as soon as we get home and it's rare that we end up hanging out much when we only have a short break. It's good to get away from the bus sometimes and get refreshed. haha, it's funny that I just used the word "refreshed" because it definitely has more than one meaning. Those of you who have ever stepped foot on a tour bus and smelled that unexplainable, dirty rock & roll man smell will know what I'm talkin' about!

We have just a little more time at home with our families before we head out on May 7. We have a great mix of shows coming up. We are doing some headlining shows, some shows with Shinedown and Saving Abel, and then a handful of those big radio festivals. This will be a fun run.

So, we are a few shows into this Shinedown tour and it has been absolutely bad ass! These shows are great because we are winning over lots of new fans and getting to see a lot of our longtime fans as well.

We recently played the brand new House of Blues in Boston. That place is incredible. I love all the HOB's all around the country, but this one is next level.

There is not much to report today. It's been business as usual.

We are hard at work on new t-shirt designs that we will hopefully have on the Chevelle tour. We have some really cool ideas!

A friend of ours named Rebecca Clark came out to a show recently and took some great photos of us, we wanted to share a few!

Is the Cowboy Electric?

So, yesterday we played in Johnson City, TN at a place called the Electric Cowboy and on stage, Jesse actually asked the crowd if the cowboy was electric tonight!? That was definitely one of the highlights of this show for me. If you know me personally, you know that I am a huge fan of terrible humor. I was so proud of him. haha

We had a day off before the show in Johnson City so pretty much the whole band (except for Tater) went home to Knoxville to visit family. That was amazing. We all needed a day at home. This tour has been really cool because we have been able to get home quite a bit on it. It's rare to see home in the middle of a tour, so we have definitely been spoiled on this one!

Speaking of home, while I was there I did some laundry. Well, apparently I wasn't paying too much attention to what I was doing (how could I pay attention to laundry when the coolest almost 11 month old little girl is hangin' with me!?) and I ran my digital camera through the washing machine! The stupid thing still won't turn on! DAMN!

Looks like it's time to go shopping. I was excited too, I had planned on taking a bunch of pics to put up on this blog.

Today we have a day off somewhere in Maryland (I think Maryland...ha) as we are on our way to Clifton Park, NY.

The show in Clifton Park will be our last headlining show of this run before we start with our buddies in Shinedown.

We are really excited about doing the Shinedown shows. Those guys are great and we have known the singer Brent forever. He grew up in Knoxville with us. That boy can sing!

Friday, March 13th

8:47 AM. We arrive in Knoxville.   Thank goodness!   It's family time!   We all scatter to our designated domains and prepare for an ever so hectic hometown show.
Shows in Knoxville are incredibly stressful but equally amazing at the same time.   The reason for the stress is that the second we step foot on home soil, our E-mail, cell phones, home phones, and any other device created for communication all begin to, for lack of a better phrase, go ape shit.   Old friends who we have not spoken to since 7th grade, ex-girlfriend's third cousin twice removed, someone who says they know you and used to be your good friend but in reality, you met them in passing once.......all of these are examples of the people who somehow got our phone numbers and are asking for VIP tickets and access to the tour bus.
Another reason for hometown show stress is that our real friends and family will be there and we always want to play well and impress them.

We got word about half-way through the day that the show was officially sold out. This is a big deal to us because this would be the first time we have sold out this venue and would also be our biggest hometown crowd.   We can't thank the people of Knoxville enough for coming out and making it such an amazing night!

Unfortunately, we had to leave Knoxville that night after the show to get to Columbia, SC for a St. Patty's festival. This day would turn out to be pretty interesting.

Saturday, March 14th

I wake up the morning after the Knoxville show and right away can tell that something is not right.   I was hungry but food sounded pretty disgusting.   I was hot, no, wait....i was cold....uh oh.
It was an exceptionally cold and rainy day in Columbia and the stage was outside in the elements.
There was an early curfew at this festival, the music had to be done at 6:00 PM so we played from 5:00-6:00.
I was feeling really weird and nauseated after trying to eat a banana early in the day, so I pretty much just took it easy until show time.
This show was a tough one for me to get through.   I was on the verge of spewing my guts up the entire time. The guys played well though.   Jesse let a couple of f-bombs slip, which we all thought was pretty funny considering our tour manager's last words to him as we were about to walk on stage were "Jesse, no cussing, it's a family event."

Anyway, after the show I went directly into my bunk and fell asleep.   I awoke around 8:30 PM in a pool of sweat. Long story short; I spent pretty much the whole night in the ER of the Palmetto Baptist Hospital in Columbia, SC where I basically sat in a waiting room for a few hours while my fever began to break on its own.   I never really understood the ER.   It's a place that even has the word EMERGENCY in the name, yet, I get faster service at a Cracker Barrel during the Sunday church rush.

Sunday, March 15th

Fresh out of the ER in Columbia, I basically just slept all day until our show in Atlanta.   We had a great show in Atlanta.   The venue was really cool, the crowd was amazing and luckily I was feeling better so I had a great time on stage.

Tuesday, March 17th

I am feeling A LOT better today and everyone is in good spirits.   We are in Jackson, Mississippi getting ready for a show at Fire.
Anyway, sorry for the crazy long blog this time!   I had to make up for the past few days I missed!

Nashville.....

Last night was the best show we have ever played in Nashville. I am pretty confident in that remark. The set flowed well, we performed with every single bit of our hearts, and most importantly, the crowd could not have been better. If their was any more energy in that room I think the building would have crumbled to the ground!

I also have to mention something that I have noticed lately. We have met a lot of people out there who have been traveling long distances to see us play, and even traveling from show to show. That really means the world to us. I remember when I was younger and I would travel to see bands like the Deftones and Incubus and stuff. Those are unforgettable times. It's quite surreal to actually have people willing to do that for us. Thank you guys a million times over!

So I keep getting reports from our management about more and more tours that are rolling in for us, so looks like this year could be our busiest ever!

"Actions & Motives" is going to be our next radio single and is slated to hit the airwaves around March 17th. We are so excited to get a rockin' track like this out to the masses. I hope that all you 10 Years fans out there will band together and start bugging the crap out of your local radio station to play "Actions."

Anyway, we are rolling into Birmingham and I have to find a place to work out. Thanks again to everyone who came out in Nashville, damn you guys were amazing!

Home for a day....

Well, more like half of a day. We pulled into Knoxville today around noon, had some things to do, acoustic songs to rehearse, and then finally scattered like cockroaches under a fluorescent light to get home!

I'm sick. I'm sick of being sick. My baby daughter is sick. This made for a pretty funny and congested reunion. We laughed, coughed, and sneezed together before finally it was her bed time. Good times!

We are now over a week into this tour and we finally feel like we are getting the hang of this new set list and sliding back into the old routine. It really is shocking to the mind, body, and soul to go from home life back to tour life or vise versa.

At least for me, those two lives could not be any farther removed from each other. The little things that I get used to at home quickly become rare luxuries on the road.

Some of you might be wondering, "hmm, if Brian has 1 night off at home with his family, why is he blabbering on the computer to us?"

Good question....

Well, my little girl is passed out in bed. My wife is even more passed out because she knows I'll keep a listen out for the little one, and I absolutely cannot sleep because my nose is so stuffed up and I'm going nuts! So, with that said, I thought I would drop a line to my other, extended family......you guys.

For those of you who have made it out to any of the shows lately, thank you so much! To those who will be catching us in the near future, take it easy on Jesse with the shots and hard liquor drinks after the shows, the boy still has to sing the next day! Remember that or I'll hunt ya down! haha

Well, I just spent the better part of the last hour trying to upload some videos to post here but I'm pretty sure my internet connection is too crappy to do so, so the videos will have to wait!

Thanks to everyone who came out in Hattiesburg last night, that was a really fun show and we got to meet some really cool peeps after the show.

We are in Shreveport, LA today playing at the Warehouse. We have never played this place before so it should be cool.

We did a meet and greet just a bit ago with some folks and everyone was nice and ready for the show.

I just brewed a monster pot of coffee and am about to just hang out and take it easy for a while. Jesse is drawing on some drum heads, Matt is on the phone, and Lewis and Tater are playing Gears of War in the back lounge of the bus. They have the stereo blasting and it sounds like a freaking war zone back there, haha.

Anyway, when I get a better connection i'll get some videos up, until then.......peace out!

Baton Freakin' Rouge!!!!!

Damn guys, all I have to say is DAMN!

The biggest thank you goes out to each and every person who was at the Varsity Theater in Baton Rouge last night for our first show back of 2009! You guys should have seen us before the show, we were a bunch of anxious, nervous wrecks! We had not stepped foot on a stage (other than Tater, he is a male stripper in our off-time) since December and felt like there was going to be a whole lotta rust to chip away at, but the second we kicked into the first song of the evening we knew that you guys, the crowd in Baton Rouge, was going to be the shot in our veins to get us through this first show back and make it one of the most memorable of our career!

We had such a great time and think that the crowd did too. That definitely was one of the loudest singing crowds I have ever heard. When Jesse and I were playing "So Long, Good-bye" we both had to fight back tears from the crowd singing. Those are the experiences that make us do what we do. When we were little kids, that is the kind of thing we used to dream about. Writing a song that people can connect with and sing the words to. What an amazing experience, thank you guys for that!

Another thing to note is that we played some songs that we have either never played live or just haven't played in years. They were performed far from perfect, but the energy and heart was there and it felt great to play those songs.

We plan on making this tour blog a very vital avenue for us to communicate with you guys so we will be posting lots coming up and after I gain a bit more computer literacy and learn how to upload videos and pictures and stuff, I will start putting them up!

By the way, I have to say that the LSU campus is really nice. I went for a long run around some lakes before the show and it was really nice around there. Also, if you have read this much of this post then I guess you deserve to know that what I said about Tater being a male stipper is not true and, really, a pretty terrible joke! I know he'll think it's really funny when he reads it so it was worth it!
